The Fassina Balanyà in Espluga de Francolí

An educational presentation to explain the functioning of history of this family industry

The notebook features illustrated summaries and educational presentations to explain the functioning, the social role and the history of this family industry, which distilled wine or pomace to produce eau de vie, in operation from the late 19th century until halfway through the 20th. Given its interest as a landmark industrial heritage property, and since it contained all the machinery and other furnishings, the Local Council of Espluga de Francolí and the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) decided to incorporate the Fassina Balanyà within the mNACTEC Territorial Network, of which it has formed a part since 2000 as a partner museum centre.
