The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) and its Territorial System are publishing issue number six of Eix magazine in November. Industrial, technical and scientific culture. The central feature of the issue, Sports, industry and modernity, reviews the close relationship between industry and modern sports and the advent of sports in Catalonia as a result of the quick industrialization process in the area.
The new issue also includes an interview with Francesc Cabana, a lawyer with extensive research experience in business and industrial history, and a visit to Cercs Mining Museum with journalist Xavi Rosiñol. The section The discovery is dedicated to Banya lighthouse in Tarragona.
Issue number 6 of Eix includes an article dedicated to La Ricarda farm in Prat de Llobregat, the main cattle farm in Pla de Barcelona in the early 20th century. It also features an article on the creation of the metre as a universal measurement unit, and another on Rec.0, a project on the Rec district of Igualada, combining industrial heritage, urbanism and fashion.
A tourist route around industrial Anoia and another through Warsaw, a symbol of the resistance and birthplace of science, are also included.
Issue number 6 of the magazine is completed with features on La Baells reservoir, the Museum of Technology of l’Empordà and the dairy cooperative Cadí.
