Albert Tulleuda Lari appointed new director of the MNACTEC

He headed the Igualada Leather and Anoia District Museum, and the Cardona Historical Foundation

The Department of Culture has concluded the process to select a new director for the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC), appointing Albert Tulleuda to the role.

Albert Tulleuda is the candidate proposed by the Governing Council of the Catalan Cultural Heritage Agency to hold the position. Mr Tulleuda was selected by means of a public competitive process, by an evaluation committee made up of members of the Department of Culture and outside experts in the field. The appointment was ratified by the Museums Board of Catalonia, since this is a national museum. The proposal made by the Governing Council is referred to the Minister of Culture for the appointment to be formalised.

Albert Tulleuda holds a degree in Art History, a master's in Cultural Administration from Barcelona University, and a postgraduate qualification in Cultural Enterprise Management and Organisation from the Open University of Catalonia. He boasts global experience and training in running museums and cultural institutions, with 20 years of experience in cultural and heritage tourism management in the public sector. He is currently Executive Director of the Manresa Tourism and Trade Fairs Foundation, a role he has held since 2017.

Notable positions from his professional career include his work as Director of the Igualada Leather and Anoia District Museum, and as the Director of the Cardona Historical Foundation. Alongside other organisational administration and management experience, he is also the technical representative of Manresa City Council on the Industrial Tourism Network of Catalonia.
