Catalonia is the birthplace of countless contributions in the fields of science and technology worldwide. These have been provided by the Catalan creators, inventors and scientists whose inventiveness has revolutionised fields such as navigation, the textile industry or medicine.
Scientific and technological contributions presented in the exhibition include inventions such as the astrolabe by Sunifred Llobet, the submarine by Narcís Monturiol, the electric telegraph by Francesc Salvà, and the pulse jet engine by Ramon Casanova, as well as the discoveries of scientists including doctor Josep Salvany, chemist Josep Roura, mathematician Ferran Sunyer or biochemist Joan Oró.
The exhibition could be visited at the Ecomuseu Farinera de Castelló d'Empúries from 29 January to 24 April 2022. at the Museu del Ciment de Castellar de n'Hug from 4 July to 17 September 2022, at the Museu del Ferrocarril de Catalunya a Vilanova i la Geltrú from 24 September to 19 November 2022, at the Museu del Turisme de Calella from 3 February to 23 April 2023, at the Museu de l'Aigua i el Tèxtil de Manresa from 26 June to 4 September 2023, at the Museu de la Pell d'Igualada i Comarcal de l'Anoia from 15 September to 29 October 2023 and at the Museu Palau Mercader in Connellà de Llobregat from 28 January to 28 April 2024.
