The daguerreotypes of the MNACTEC, in the Daguerreobase

The platform provides access to various holdings of daguerreotypes

The Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC) has signed a partnership agreement with the trans-European project Daguerreobase, which aims to gather together all the daguerreotypes preserved in Europe in one single database that can be consulted online. Through this agreement the MNACTEC has made Catalonia's greatest contribution to this international project.

Daguerreobase allows access to the leading digital repository of daguerreotypes on the continent, with the aim of assisting professionals and aficionados from all round the world in studying them.

The MNACTEC collection of daguerreotypes comprises 72 items, and is one of the most important anywhere in Spain. The Museum plans to organise an exhibition to showcase this important photographic heritage collection in 2015.
