The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia is organising the photography competition #PERILLmNACTEC on Instagram, to coincide with the new exhibition “DANGER! Saved by technology”, which can be visited at the Museum until 30 June 2019.
Rules
Anybody wishing to take part in the competition must upload their photographs to a public Instagram account. These photographs must reflect their vision of the exhibition or related activities (guided visits, workshops, talks, etc.). In order to participate users must follow the @mnactec account, using the #PERILLmNACTEC hashtag in the image text and tagging @mnactec in the publication.
Participation is free and there is no limit to the number of photographs which can be submitted to the competition, providing they respect intellectual property rights and the rights of third parties. Photographs taken from any device - digital camera, mobile phone, tablet, etc. - are all eligible.
The period for submissions begins on 25 January 2019 and ends on 30 June. At the end of every month (from February to June) the jury will select a finalist photograph (5 in total). The last finalist will be announced on 2 July and the competition verdict will be made public on 5 July.
Finalists will be contacted through a message to their Instagram photograph, and these images will be posted to the @mnactec account. The winner will be contacted through a message to his or her photograph and the winner’s name will be published on the Museum’s website and Facebook and Twitter accounts. The winners must contact the organisation in writing at info.mnactec@gencat.cat in order to organise the delivery of the prize.
The jury is made up of supervisors from the different areas of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia.
Prize
The prize is a GoPro HERO 7 White camera or a gift of the same value. Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or any other prize.
Legal notice
By posting images to Instagram with the hashtag #PERILLmNACTEC, the user accepts their publication on the website and social networks of the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia. By participating the photographer confirms authorship of these photographs, none of which may contravene any public or private rights. Participants grant the Museum the reproduction rights of the photographs published with the aforementioned tag for their participation in this competition. Participant photographs may be used for promotion and advertising. These photographs will not be used for commercial purposes.
Restrictions
The competition reserves the right to withdraw from the competition any photographs which do not comply with the requirements specified here, as well as any contravening the criteria for publication associated with the social network.
Acceptance
Participation in the competition implies the acceptance of these terms and conditions. Non-acceptance on the part of the participants will lead them to disqualification.
