Opening of the exhibition “Robots"

The exhibition presents the history, evolution and applications of robotics at the service of society

The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC) today launches the exhibition "Robots. From da Vinci's automata to the humanoids of the future", allowing visitors to discover, understand and experience the history, evolution and uses of robotics in the service of society.

It draws on a selection of nearly 70 robots to reflect on the challenges faced by humanity in the light of the unstoppable development of these machines, and the possibilities they offer to transform the future.

“Robots. From da Vinci's automata to the humanoids of the future" offers an insight into the phenomenon of robotics through robots themselves, along with audiovisual and interactive displays, models and infographic features.

The show has been organised by the MNACTEC, with executive management by Casual Robots, and contributions from PAL Robotics, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and the Professional Association of Industrial Engineers of Catalonia.

More than 70 remarkable robots
The exhibition covers the history and evolution of robotics, with more than 70 robots ranging from historical automata and iconic robots from science fiction, down to the first commercial and professional robots. It likewise presents current applications in fields such as research, medicine, rehabilitation and everyday life, before ending with the most advanced humanoid robots, including GePeTo, developed exclusively for the MNATEC and equipped with generative artificial intelligence.
