Inventory of the industrial heritage of Sabadell

The project forms part of the Inventory of Industrial Heritage of Catalonia (IPIC)

The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) and the Museum of History of Sabadell (MHS) have reached an agreement to begin producing the Inventory of the Industrial Heritage of the Municipality of Sabadell, with the aim of referencing and cataloguing the architectural complexes and industrial buildings of the city, while also ascertaining their current state of upkeep and improving the preservation, dissemination and study of these assets. The project forms part of the Inventory of Industrial Heritage of Catalonia (IPIC), promoted and conducted by the mNACTEC.

This year marks the start of the first phase of the inventory of Sabadell, funded by the mNACTEC and supervised by the MHS, which will be produced by the historians and archaeologists Maria Carme Carmona and Eugeni Junyent (Dracma Arqueologia). During this stage, which will cover the months from June to November 2016, at least 150 industrial elements of Sabadell will be inventoried, recording their historical, architectural, technological, landscape, aesthetic, artistic values, etc.
