Exhibition: “Gabriel Lluelles, industrial designer”

The exhibition presents 70 objects created by the Catalan designer who invented the Minipimer hand blender

The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC) has now opened the exhibition “Gabriel Lluelles, industrial designer”, revealing the most distinctive household appliances designed by Gabriel Lluelles (Barcelona, 1923-2012), the industrial designer who best represents the emergence and consolidation of the profession in Catalonia.

Lluelles designed 33 household appliances for the companies Pimer, Braun and Taurus: hairdryers, toasters, coffee mills, fans, blenders and liquidisers. The display at the MNACTEC presents more than 70 exhibits, including different marketing finishes and modifications of each of the appliances, revealing his dual role as both industrial engineer and designer. Likewise featured are examples of original packaging, advertising and other previously unseen documents.

The exhibition was produced by the Alfaro Hofmann Collection, an organisation dedicated to showcasing more than 12,000 exhibits assembled from various sources, casting light on the culture of everyday objects. The show will be open at the MNACTEC until 13 January 2026.
