The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) is this year assigning a budget of 447,079.27 euros to the museums and heritage visitor centres that make up its Regional Structure. The network comprises 27 museums around the country explaining the process of industrialisation in Catalonia through their collections, their exhibitions, and the in situ museum presentation of the different industrial activities that took place there.
The investment of 447,079.27 euros will be allocated to the implementation of 47 projects presented by the member museums. Of this amount, 100,000 euros have been contributed by the Directorate-General for Cultural Heritage of the Culture Department of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia, with the remainder being drawn from the National Museum's own budget. The mNACTEC's annual investment in the museums belonging to its network forms a part of the post-Covid strategic approach of the Culture Department to support museums in the region.
The 47 planned initiatives include notable projects to restore scientific, technical and industrial heritage; museum presentation and research projects; grants for the publication of research studies, etc.
