The virtual exhibition "MNACTEC’s daguerreotypes", presented through the Google Arts & Culture platform, offers visitors the chance to travel through the beginnings of photography thanks to the Duran daguerreotype collection, one of the most important in Spain.
The exhibit immerses us in the early stages of photography and the daguerreotype technique, showing us the technological and social processes which accompanied this photographic procedure. A wide selection of daguerreotypes from the Duran collection is presented to showcase this technique, which was used exclusively to take portraits of the bourgeoisie.
