On Sunday, 14 May, the National Science and Technology Museum of Catalonia (MNACTEC) is staging an open day and a range of activities free of charge to mark International Museum Day.
This is the most important event organised by the International Council of Museums (ICOM), staged since 1977. Museums organise a range of activities for all audiences around this date, and open up their doors free of charge. The aim of the event is to raise visitor and public awareness as to the importance of museums in the development of society.
The key features this year at the MNACTEC include a clown show, visits to the exhibits storage rooms and restoration workshop, and guided tours of the museum's roof vaults.
