The Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia and Òmnium Cultural Terrassa are organising the series of talks “Unique aspects of industrialization in Catalonia”. This cycle aims to highlight the unique aspects of the industrialization process in Catalonia which, deliberately or coincidentally, formed a way of doing, thinking and working in Catalan society, setting it apart socially and politically from other nearby regions.
Speakers will examine topics such as the origins of the industrialization process, the phenomenon of industrial colonies, the role and power of bourgeois businessmen, the working classes, etc. In short, these talks will analyse Catalan industrial society in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
