The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (MNACTEC) closed 2024 with 133,411 visitors to its main site in Terrassa, the highest figure in its history, representing an increase of 17.8% compared with 2023.
The rise in the number of visitors is down to the Museum celebrating its 40th anniversary, with a programme of special activities for a range of audiences; the new weekend activities on offer; an increase in bookings for educational activities, and the new temporary exhibitions initiative, with a smaller-scale format but arousing considerable interest.
The group of MNACTEC sites (Terrassa, Asland Cement Museum in Castellar de n’Hug, Palau Forge in Ripoll and Colònia Sedó Company Town Museum in Esparreguera) received 158,817 visitors in 2024, almost 20% higher than in 2023, above all because of the considerable rise in visitor numbers at the MNACTEC and the Cement Museum.
