MetaMètode. Dialogues between Art and Science

The exhibition presents the results of the meetings between artists and scientists promoted by the research project "MetaMètode: Shared methodologies and artistic processes in the knowledge society", conducted by Barcelona University

From March, 17 2016 to May, 29 2016

The exhibition shows the results of a series of meetings, dialogues and collaborations between artists and scientists within the context of the research project “MetaMètode: Shared methodologies and artistic processes in the knowledge society" conducted by the Imarte research group at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Barcelona University.

The display addresses questions affecting our way of life from different perspectives. A number of artists use scientific experiments to generate their discourse and pose questions about issues such as matter, time, ethics and technological processes. Others use their works to explore the interaction of technologies with multimedia installations. The exhibition also features works by artists that question the boundaries between scientific and artistic observation, while others share software or work with data display, apply printing technologies to hard, three-dimensional materials, or examine the conceptual scope of reproducibility.

The exhibition “MetaMètode. Dialogues between Art and Science" features nine works by thirteen artists:

  • Eugènia Agustí
  • Jordi Bielsa
  • Luz Broto
  • Mercè Casanovas

  • Jo Milne
  • Aleix Molet
  • Cristina Pastó
  • Eloi Puig
