The exhibition takes us on journey through the 40-year history of the Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya railway, by focusing on one of its most distinctive features: the ability to adapt its routes to the huge territorial diversity of Catalonia.
FGC is right now the most wide-ranging European railway company in terms of public transport systems, as it handles light railway lines such as the El Vallès Metro and Baix Llobregat Metro; freight lines, such as the Manresa-Sallent-Súria and Barcelona Port branches; rack railways, such as the Núria Rack Railway and Montserrat Rack Railway; funicular railways, such as the Vallvidrera, Gelida, Sant Joan and La Santa Cova Funiculars, and a number of cable cars and ski lifts, such as at the La Molina, Vall de Núria, Port Ainé, Espot and Vallter 2000 ski resorts.
