GENERAL INFORMATION

How to get there: the Museum stands at the address Rambla d’Êgara, 270, in Terrassa. Find out about different transport options here.
Tickets: visitors with a disability certificate enter free of charge. Their companions likewise enter free of charge if the disability accreditation card indicates that the person needs to be accompanied.
Reception: the public service desk is located on the right of the entrance lobby, with level access on foot. 
Areas: the MNACTEC is housed within a former textile factory; download a map here to discover the different areas of the MNACTEC.
Inclusive visits: Apropa Cultura offers various workshops and visits intended for different groups. Find out about the activities on offer.

 

PHYSICAL ACCESSIBILITY

Parking for people with reduced mobility: access is possible via route p1 marked on this map, as the Rambla d'Ègara is closed to traffic.
Wheelchair loan: a wheelchair is available for visitors who so require. Please ask at the visitor service desk.
Lift and ramps: the MNACTEC has ramps and lifts connecting the different floors.
Adapted toilets: visitors will find adapted toilets alongside reception, in the main gallery, and on basement floor -1.
 

Movement around Museum areas: The Museum does contain a number of inaccessible areas:

  • Coal stores: entry is via a lift platform, and the ground is uneven.
  • Interior of the chimney: the flooring is uneven, with some sections of grating.
  • Access to the boilers from the ground floor: only accessible by descending the stairs.
  • Steam engine room: a key must be requested to take the lift instead of stairs.
  • Roof viewing platform: only accessible via steps.
  • Roof: there are a few steps to climb, and the ground is sloping.

 

AUDITORY ACCESSIBILITY

Magnetic loops: a free magnetic loop service is available on demand at museum reception.
Sign language: a free sign language interpreter service is available for activities, with prior booking.
Subtitling: all exhibition videos are presented with subtitles in Catalan.

 

VISUAL ACCESSIBILITY

Guide dogs: guide dogs are welcome. You will need to present the relevant documentation to the staff on reception.
Lighting: in general, the Museum has plenty of natural light by day in the main gallery. Basement floor -1 does have less well-lit areas.
Tactile elements: objects or models that can be touched can be offered on demand.

 

COGNITIVE DIVERSITY

Easy reading guide: an easy reading information guide about the MNACTEC is available on demand at the reception desk or by online consultation.

 

AMBIENT CONDITIONS

Noise: the main gallery area may be noisy at busier times. During the school year, there tend to be a fair number of school pupils in the morning, making this a noisier time. Afternoons are quieter. 
Rest areas: you will find rest areas with seating in various parts of the Museum.
