Over some 50 years in existence, the television has shifted from being an incidental entertainment device to become a powerful medium capable of forming opinion of shaping social practices and customs. This publication describes 60 devices that have had an international impact. A key item of household furniture, its presence and design have influenced the structure of our sitting rooms.
