    Jacquard loom, silk blade mechanism.This comprises a device known as the Jacquard, positioned at top, used to weave designs of considerable size, perfection and colouring, which was impossible on other looms. The Jacquard device features a series of perforated cards, that together represent a design. When the needles of the machine pass through each of the holes on the cards, the warp threads are selected, and interwoven with the weft threads to create the design.
