Bar-lock typewriter, of the Royal Bar-lock model (aka the Columbia Bar-lock). This is a downward operating design with a full keyboard and a central golden chassis covering the whole arc of vertical type letters. The name of the machine is itself derived from the frontal protection system fitted to it, preventing the type bars from becoming displaced when actuated. It likewise stands out for its double keyboard (for upper and lower case), and the ornamentation in the central part of the machine.
