  • Escuder sewing machine, Aurora model

    Record number: 4760
    Date: 1862
    Dimensions: 96 x 63 x 45 cm

Aurora sewing machine. As with all Escuder products, the cast iron work is particularly elaborate, of a much higher quality than other products found on the market at the time. Compared with the original Wheeler & Weber model, Escuder added accessories and finishing (cabinet and cast iron filigree), to create a deluxe machine.

The machine is mounted on a table structure with legs and pedals of cast iron with filigree stating the make and model of the machine. It is protected by a hinged wooden cover, with four drawers inside to store sewing materials.
