    Thick sheet of cast iron with a handle at the top. When placed in contact with a hot surface it receives and can transmit the heat. Passed over clothing when hot, it serves to straighten and smooth it. This iron is heated by means of coal combustion. It has a cover which can be closed by means of a knob. The coal is placed inside. On the sides there are hand engraved or printed designs. The handle is a wooden bar.
