Publication of issue 3 of 'Eix' magazine

The main article is dedicated to the automobile revolution

The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) and its Territorial System are publishing the third issue of Eix magazine, Industrial, technological and scientific culture, in May. The main feature of this issue, The automobile revolution, reviews the social changes derived from the invention of cars.

The new issue also includes an interview with historian Jordi Nadal and a visit to the Museu de la Torneria in Torelló guided by producer Isona Passola. The section The discovery is dedicated to the history of the Capdella cardboard hospital, an incredible prefabricated cardboard construction over a century old. The section The Invention presents the hail cannon, an early twentieth-century invention which was used in Catalan vineyards against hailstones.

Issue number 3 of Eix also includes features on the platforms in the Port of Tarragona and the Marc Martí advertising collection, two industrial tourism routes (in Mallorca and Ripollès), as well as articles on engineer Francesc Macià, a river route connecting nature and heritage in the Penedès and the themed networks of industrial and technological museums in Europe.
