Open Air Cinema series

This cycle proposes three film sessions in the Museum’s historic courtyard in the month of July

This July, the Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) is organizing a series of outdoors cinema screenings, proposing three showings in the Museum’s historic courtyard at 21.30 h. on the first and second Thursday of the month, and at 21.00 h on the third Thursday. Each session will be in keeping with a different theme relating to the mNACTEC: Lives in science, Industrial Society and Science Fiction.

Under the title Lives in science, the film Hidden Figures will be screened on Thursday 5 July. The film presents the story, never told before, of three brilliant female African American scientists who worked at NASA on the ambitious project to send astronaut John Glenn into space in the early 1960s.

The second screening will be held on Thursday 12 July as part of the industrial society theme. In Modern times, the famous comedy written and directed in 1936 by Charles Chaplin we will see him fight to survive in the modern industrialized world.

In the field of Science-fiction, the film Blade Runner 2049 will close the cycle on Thursday 19 July. The sequel to Blade Runner is set thirty years after the events of the first film. A new blade runner discovers a hidden secret that could put an end to the chaos which has taken over society.

There will be a bar service in the historic courtyard of mNACTEC. Admission price per session is 2 euros and advance bookings via the website are advised.
