Exhibition “Industrial Heritage in North Catalonia”

The cross-border exhibition reveals the dynamism of 37 industrial sites in the Eastern Pyrenees

The National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC) has opened the cross-border exhibition "Industrial Heritage in North Catalonia", revealing the dynamic nature of the industrial operations in the French department of Eastern Pyrenees, in the past, present and future. The display has been produced by students on the Professional Heritage Master's course at the UPVD (Perpignan Via Domitia University), in partnership with the mNACTEC.

Divided into industrial sectors, the exhibition shows the major changes and potential of 37 companies present in French Catalonia, corresponding to seven industrial sectors: textile, timber and forestry, agri-food industry, energy, chemicals, metalworking and the papers sector.

"Industrial Heritage in North Catalonia" was on display in July at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Perpignan, and will be open to visitors at the mNACTEC until 27 November. The plan is for the exhibition then to travel to Montpellier and other French towns and cities.
