Central article dedicated to the Universal Exhibition of 1888 in Barcelona

Issue number 5 of Eix magazine is dedicating its central article to the 1888 Universal Exhibition in Barcelona. It includes an interview with Magda Fernández, an expert in social science teaching who coordinated the MNACTEC’s pedagogic approach, as well as a visit to the Museum of Cork in Palafrugell with the writer Rosa Regàs. Articles are presented on the mines of the Mequinensa basin; Demiro de Caralt, a pioneer of the moving image in Catalonia; the catastrophic floods in Manresa on 12 October 1907, the optical telegraph at the Castle of Sant Miquel, Narcís Monturiol’s fish-ship, and how Danone made the leap from Barcelona to the world. The issue includes a tourist route of the industrial heritage of the Region of Valencia and an itinerary to discover the industry of the mountains through the Hydroelectric Museum in Capdella, the Museum of Gerri de la Sal, the Sawmill and Flourmill in Àreu, the Ecomuseum of Valls d’Àneu, Salàs Museum Shops, the Hydroelectric Plant in Tavascan and the Train of the Lakes.
